Job description Medical office assistant (MOA Certificate and at least one year experience) Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia Position Type: Full-time, permanent, with regular daytime hours (8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday) Start Date: June 23, 2025 We are seeking a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our OBGYN office located in Abbotsford, BC. Our clinic delivers compassionate and expert care to patients with gynecological and obstetrical conditions. We are looking for a professional and motivated individual to join our team. Key Responsibilities: - Greet and assist patients in person and by phone with professionalism and empathy - Schedule and confirm patient appointments, surgeries, tests, and follow-ups - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems - Prepare patient charts, documents, and referral paperwork - Liaise with hospitals, diagnostic facilities, referring physicians, and other healthcare providers - Assist with general administrative duties including faxing, scanning, filing, and supply management - Support physicians and clinical staff in managing the day-to-day flow of the practice Qualifications: - Experience working in a medical office or clinical environment (OBGYN or surgical specialty preferred) - Experience with surgical booking - Strong communication skills and a courteous, patient-focused demeanour - Proficiency with EMR systems. Experience with Plexia EMR is an asset. - Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail Compensation: - Hourly wage: $25.00 and higher, depending on experience.
