Staff Accompanist Position University of San Francisco Performing Arts and Social Justice Department, Music Program Dates: August 19-November 23, 2025; with likely extension to future semesters Pay: $55/Hour; 57 hours total per semester (prep and admin time per week included) Duties: • Accompany USF University Choir, MUS110-01, University Choir rehearsals – Tues/Thurs 2:35–4:55, 8/26-11/20 • Accompany Opera Chorus rehearsals – most Tuesdays 11:50-12:25, 8/19/25-10/21/25 • Accompany California Catholic College Choral Festival – Sat 11/8 9am-8pm (hours negotiable, date subject to change) • Accompany Thacher Gallery Concert – Thurs 11/6/25, 11:45-12:45 • Accompany End of Semester Concert – Fri 11/23/25, 6-8:30pm • Accompany 2-4 additional performances TBD The conductor is available to take rehearsal when the pianist is out due to illness or other unavoidable absences; in turn, the conductor may ask the pianist to lead rehearsals on rare occasions when she is unavailable. Qualifications: • Experience as a collaborative pianist, preferably with choral ensembles • Experience working with a conductor • Excellent sight-reading skills • Ability to play in a wide variety of musical styles, including 16th-century choral music, chromatic contemporary music, and popular and jazz styles. • Ability to play a variety of scoring, including open scores and polyphonic textures.
