Manual Machinist (Horizontal Boring Mill)
A well-established manufacturing company specializing in precision machining is looking to add a skilled and experienced Horizontal Boring Machinist in the Northeast Houston area. You will set up and operate large HBM machines while also interpreting blueprints to produce high quality and large-scale components. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Set up, operate, and maintain large horizontal boring mills (HBM) to machine parts per specifications. Machines include Wotan Horizontal Boring Mills (model B-1305),( B-105m),( B-1005), or (340RT) • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements. • Perform precision machining operations such as boring, drilling, and milling on a variety of metals and materials. • Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.). • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 10 years of experience operating horizontal boring mills (HBM). • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. • Ability to set up and operate HBM machines to tight tolerances. • Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques and equipment. • Knowledge of machining large-scale industrial components.
