Volunteers Needed for a Research Study on Memory at UChicago - Hyde Park


compensation: $20/hour


The Memory and Perception in Schizophrenia Lab at the University of Chicago is conducting a study of visual memory and is looking for individuals to volunteer. The purpose of this research study is to learn more about how visual memories are formed, and how this process may be disrupted in people with mental illness. Volunteers may be eligible if that are between 18-58 years of age and have been diagnosed with: -Schizophrenia -Schizoaffective Disorder -Bipolar Disorder We are also looking for volunteers who have NO history of mental illness to participate! Volunteers will be asked to come in for 3 sessions lasting 2-3 hours each and do the following: - Answer questions about mental health history and history of drug and alcohol use - Complete an electrocochleogram (EEG) assessment in which sensors record brain activity while performing tasks on a computer - Pass a drug test at the start of each session Volunteers will receive $20 per hour of participation.
