The Director of Business Attraction plays a critical role in GSL’s efforts to attract new companies, investment, and jobs to the bi-state metropolitan region. The Business Attraction team at Greater St. Louis, Inc. markets St. Louis to generate new investment leads and provides follow-on services at no charge to the client to position St. Louis’ competitive advantages. Such services may include site location visits, customized market research, financial incentive assistance, and related support. The GSL Business Attraction team works collaboratively with regional economic development partners across the 15-county, bi-state MSA to find the right site solutions to meet clients’ needs. To learn more about Greater St. Louis, Inc., visit: https://greaterstlinc.com/ What you will be doing: The Director of Business Attraction Marketing will be a key leader in shaping and executing high-impact marketing and communications strategies that advance the goals of our business attraction efforts. This role is responsible for developing and delivering innovative, data-driven campaigns that promote the St. Louis region as a premier destination for business investment, with a focus on high-value industries and markets. The Director will lead initiatives that enhance regional visibility, generate qualified leads, and grow the business attraction pipeline. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications, this individual will directly support efforts that bring thousands of new jobs and billions of dollars in capital investment to the St. Louis region. Essential Functions: Create and lead strategic multi-channel marketing campaigns that generate increased awareness of the St. Louis region among target audiences Oversee and optimize targeted digital and print marketing, advertising, and sales support tactics to produce a measurable increase in pipeline leads and velocity Develop compelling messaging, sales collateral, and project proposals that utilize research and subject matter expertise to effectively and creatively convey our region’s competitive strengths to sophisticated audiences across targeted industries Lead internal project teams and coalitions of external stakeholders in the strategic execution of marketing efforts at globally significant trade shows and industry forums Bring creative and sophisticated marketing approaches to the business attraction team that directly support the growth of the sales pipeline and improve our success rate for closing deals Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce best-in-class materials and ensure timely delivery of all projects Perform additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to you by Greater St. Louis, Inc. May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday as project deadlines demand. Events and meetings will involve some early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Will require travel based on project demands. Travel includes frequently driving a motor vehicle as well as occasional air travel. International travel will likely be required on occasion.
