Qualified participants will receive a minimum of $20 per hour, up to $50 per hour if an MRI is included.
We're seeking adults aged 18-45 living in the Baltimore area to enroll in a research study to develop reliable tests to better understand learning and decision-making processes. Participants will engage in cognitive tasks involving smells, flavors, visuals, sounds, and food. During the study tasks, sensors will be used to monitor heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and other physical changes. Most tasks require 1-4 visits; some may require up to 12, spaced 1-14 days apart. Each visit lasts approximately 1-7 hours. Some participants will undergo a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scan and perform tasks on a computer screen during the scan. Qualified participants will receive a minimum of $20 per hour, up to $50 per hour if an MRI is included. Travel will be provided or reimbursed within 50 miles of the NIDA Biomedical Research Center in Baltimore, MD, where the study visits will take place.
