Singer-songwriter power trio looking for a fourth member to round out our songwriting project. We currently have ten songs written, drawing from 90s alt-rock (Wilco, Cake, Presidents of the USA, Radiohead), alt-country (Jason Isbell/Drive-By Truckers, Dave Rawlings/Gillian Welch, Kathleen Edwards), as well as some noisy/punky vibes (we like fuzz pedals!) Singer also has a soft spot for Rufus Wainwright. We will probably learn some covers to fill out a live set, but are primarily interested in writing original material.
Ideal candidate would be comfortable on both keys and guitar, though if we had to pick one it would be keys. While we do love piano and organ, generally we'd be looking more for sounds in the synth realm. A strong sense of melody and playing to the song are really important to us.
We are in our 30s but are open to playing with anyone as long as you are responsible, empathetic, a good communicator, and have a schedule that allows for regular band practices and hopefully at least one show a month. Our lyrical content leans left and queer-friendly, so we ask that you only reach out if those values mesh with yours.
