This guitar is for the Buddy Holly super-fan! The guitar is an Epiphone AJ-100VS. I recently conditioned the fretboard, polished the frets, and put on new Martin extra-light strings. The guitar plays well and sounds nice. But that’s not why your interested. This guitar was owned by another Buddy Holly fan, who was a performer himself. Don Grimes, also from Texas, wanted to create his own tribute to Buddy’s acoustic. He purchased the leather at Tandy Leather in Lubbock, TX, the exact same place where Buddy bought the leather for his acoustic. Don hired a leather-worker to hand tool the cover to painstakingly match Buddy’s custom leather cover. This is a true work of art! Ready to hang in your music room! Like any true performer, Don decorated his case as well, with leather letters spelling his and Buddy’s names. As well as patches from his travels. The case is a real Gibson acoustic case to add to the authentic feel of his creation.
