Hi there , my name is Scott Tournet and I was a founding member of Grace Potter and The Nocturnals (2003-2014). With the Nocturnals I was a co-writer on 3 Top 40 albums and scored a gold record for the song “Paris”. We played festivals all over the world, appeared on a lot of the late night shows, and even performed for president Obama.
In addition to my work with the Nocturnals, I've also written and recorded with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Willie Nelson, T Bone Burnett, Kenny Chesney, Alison Krauss, Mark Batson (Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, Eminem) and others. I’ve performed with The Allman Brothers, members of The Grateful Dead and Phish, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and many others. After many years on the road I’m slowing down the touring a bit to be at home with my family. I still go out here and there as a solo artist but not full time so I’m now able to teach again which is something I’ve always enjoyed. Along with what I've done professionally, I have a BA in music composition and performance. I enjoy helping people of all levels. Wherever you are at, I'll meet you. Very flexible.

I believe in a fun, personalized approach to music. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student, it's all about keeping the learning process pleasurable. I have a lot of techniques that really focus on the "playing" side of things. I never want it to feel like "work".
