NRC Research Institute, with locations in Orange and Los Angeles, CA is looking for patients to enroll into an Opioid Use Disorder research study! The study is attempting to understand if a new medication is safe and effective at treating Opioid Use Disorder. Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a complex illness characterized by compulsive use of opioid drugs even when the person wants to stop, or when using the drugs negatively affects the person’s physical and emotional well-being. While opioid use disorder is similar to other substance use disorders in many respects, it has several unique features. Opioids can lead to physical dependence within a short time, as little as 4-8 weeks, and can cause severe withdrawal symptoms when use is discontinued. YOU MAY QUALIFY TO PARTICIPATE IF YOU: Are between ages 18 to 65 Have moderate to severe opioid use disorder Are willing to take a study medication The study doctor will discuss other requirements.
