NRC Research Institute, with locations in Orange and Los Angeles, CA is currently enrolling patients into our Alzheimer’s (with Psychosis) research study! Alzheimer's disease is the biological process that begins with the appearance of a buildup of proteins in the form of amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. This causes brain cells to die over time and the brain to shrink. Early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease include forgetting recent events or conversations. Over time, Alzheimer's disease leads to serious memory loss and affects a person's ability to do everyday tasks. Psychosis occurs in the majority of people with Alzheimer’s disease over the course of their illness. Broadly, psychosis is when a person has trouble figuring out what is real and what isn't. People with psychosis may have delusions or even hallucinations. This study is looking to see if an investigational medication is safe and effective at reducing psychosis associated with Alzheimer’s.
