80HD is a tribute-level cover band specializing in 80’s New Wave. We’ve been playing out for the past 2+ years, with about 70 songs in our catalog. We tend to practice 2-4 times a month (usually Sunday afternoons) and have done approximately 10-12 shows a year at local clubs as well as private events. We have excellent rehearsal space in Atlanta/Decatur near the Oak Grove neighborhood. We aim to create a fun, nostalgic, dancey vibe when we play.
About you….
You are a lead guitarist with keen attention to song details and chord voicings. You love the challenge of creating diverse guitar tones to capture the New Wave “sound” of each song. You do your homework in between practices and before shows. On songs that are mostly synth-based, you would be willing to play electronic percussion pads and/or simple keyboard parts. Your ability to do backing vocals would be a plus. You have a lively stage presence. You dislike band drama and get along well with your fellow bandmates. While the band is ultimately a fun outlet, your approach is very professional, like ours is.
