We are seeking a Project Development Strategist to join our team in our Bozeman Market. Role Summary The Project Development Strategist will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and securing new project opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, estimating and preconstruction teams to drive business growth through market research, client engagement and strategic planning. This role demands a dynamic, results driven professional with a solid construction background and a strategic mindset. Key Responsibilities • Identify and pursue new project leads and partnerships in target market locations throughout Montana • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, developers, architects, engineers, and industry partners • Lead early project development phases including feasibility studies, budget development, and conceptual planning • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals, presentations, and RFQ/RFP responses • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform strategic decisions • Represent Martel Construction at networking and industry events, conferences, and client meetings • Assist in the development and implementation of long-term business development strategies Background and Competencies • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, business or a related field • 5+ years of proven experience in business development, project management, or other strategic roles within the construction industry • Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery methods • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences at all organizational levels • Complex problem solving, functional and business strategy knowledge • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management software is a plus Additional Expectations • Exemplify Martel’s values of honesty, integrity, and respect in all interactions. • Maintain a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and effective communication skills. • Work with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail. • Be willing to travel for work, primarily within western Montana.
