Farmers Market Sales Associate
We are looking for a friendly and professional sales associate to join our Farmers Market sales team, selling frozen meat pies and other goodies at our Mar Vista market on Sundays! Since our humble start in 2020 at a single farmers market, we’ve grown to 9 bustling locations by 2025. Expanding into other frozen products and scrumptious baked goods has been an adventure of learning and growth. If you’re passionate, hard-working, and punctual with a love for feeding people good food, we want to hear from you. Experience in hospitality, customer service, or sales is a plus—and if you think you can contribute to our collective learning, we’d love to connect. Duties and Responsibilities • Set up tent and equipment • Present a clean and professional storefront • Greet and assist customers in an engaging and professional manner • Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all available products • Answer customer questions and address concerns • Make helpful suggestions that support the customer’s needs • Handle all cash and card transactions with accuracy • Observe customer behavior and provide feedback to help improve sales strategies • Participate in a data-driven approach to growing sales and improving customer experience • Break down tent and equipment efficiently and neatly Requirements and Qualifications • Food Handler’s Certificate (can be obtained within 30 days of hire) • 1–2 years of retail experience preferred • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to comfortably talk with strangers • Honest, reliable, and punctual • Positive attitude with a can-do spirit • Able to follow instructions with consistency • Comfortable using a cash register (experience with Square POS a plus) • Familiarity with Slack preferred • Able to memorize product features and specifications • Willing to drive to assigned market • Able to lift up to 30 lbs • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions This is a weekly Sunday position at the Mar Vista Farmers Market.
