The Concealed Carry Permit law will experience BIG CHANGES beginning July 1st. Therefore you must APPLY prior to this date to be grandfathered with the far easier current process. HOWEVER, you need a class. If you look around, you will not find any classes available before this date. HOWEVER, my friend is offering this class beginning June 19th, until the end of the month. He is an NRA licensed instructor and he will issue a certificate with which you can apply at your country sheriff for a CCW. This class costs $125 plus $25 RANGE FEE for live firing time. Application for this permit BEFORE July 1st means you will receive a 5 year permit. If you apply AFTER July 1st, you will need to reeducate yearly and must meet stringent training requirements. Few people will likely apply after July 1, it's just too daunting. If you always wanted or needed a Concealed Carry Handgun permit, now is your (perhaps only) chance!
