offered in person
I am an experienced accordion teacher and performer, offering lessons at all levels from beginner to advanced in my home near Rosedale and the St. Paul campus of the U of MN. I especially enjoy working with children and with adult beginners. My rates are $20 for a half-hour lesson or $30 for a full hour. For those who do not own an accordion, I have accordions available for rental and can also help you purchase a quality used accordion at a reasonable price. For further information, send an e-mail reply or call David at 651-636-2967.
My background: I have been giving accordion lessons for thirty years and have been performing on accordion for (has it really been that long?!) over fifty years. I originally studied accordion at the Henry Johns studios in Allentown, PA, and later studied with Dee Langley in Minneapolis. I have performed with the group Mosaica, which has appeared regularly at Kramarczuk's in Northeast Minneapolis and has also been featured at venues such as Polish Festival in Minneapolis and Festival of Nations in St. Paul. I also perform in a smaller three-person group, known as the Accidental Trio. As a solo musician I have performed for many special events, such as weddings, parties, Oktoberfests, and funerals. I have frequently been called upon to play accordion in pit orchestras for musicals, including "Fiddler on the Roof" (5 different productions), "Cabaret," and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
