In all our auto broker offices, we provide a desk, chair (2 chairs at the Norcross location!), locking file cabinet, and a "compliance board" where you hang on the wall all required documents, your state license, your local business license, your state sales tax id certificate, your bond and your insurance. And we also have your signage made and take all the required photos. Utilities, except phone and internet are included.
To sign a lease, we will need security deposit equal to one month rent, prorated current month's rent, $45 one time cost for the sign required by the state, $25 one time fee for a mailbox lock and key, and a $50 door lock fee.

When you apply for the state auto brokers license, you must get zoning approval from the local jurisdiction for the building where you are setting up your office. Most office buildings are not zoned properly for auto brokers, as they usually have a severely limited zoning of O&I.
Many times you will see individual offices leased out, but if they are not separate suites, then they will not qualify, so beware of other Landlord promises. If the office you are renting is inside a larger office suite, then most likely that office will NOT be qualified, as MAILING ADDRESSES and office suites cannot be shared. Before signing a lease anywhere, make sure the property is properly zoned so you can get a zoning certificate, secondly, if the office appears to inside another suite without a separate entrance, ASK about a occupancy permit. If you dont have an occupancy permit, your business is NOT legal. Ask the local county or city jurisdiction, NOT the landlord! A mistake can be costly. We constantly get tenants that learned the hard and expensive way!

1). To schedule your prelicensing seminar, go to https://giada.org or call and ask for Connie or Amanda at 770-745-9650. This is REQUIRED seminar for ALL applicants. At the seminar, you learn all about business as well as rules and regulations.

Because of our great locations, you can expect insurance rates to be HUNDREDS less than locations in Fulton, DeKalb, and Clayton counties and cities in those counties. Also, when buying insurance, we recommend you also get business insurance and insurance to protect your vehicles, not JUST the minimum required liability garage insurance....PROTECT yourself!
3). We can recommend a knowledgable private consultant who will do all the paperwork, insurance, bonding etc for a reasonable fee to get you license to make sure you correctly comply with all the required paperwork and submit a proper application.
4). We can also recommend phone service with a small phone company for you for $75 per month with INTERNET included, they furnish the telephone and set up your static IP address and with NO long-term contract. This is much much cheaper than AT&T or Comcast! As you may know, you are required by the state licensing Board to maintain both your office and a landline phone service in order to keep your license. You may NOT have voip phones, cell phones or hot spit phones. Also, you number WILL be published with 411, another state requirement. A phone, as depicted in one of the photos, will be furnished as well, so you dont even have to buy a phone!!! As you may know, to print out your temporary tags for your buyers, you now must have a STATIC IP Address registered with the state. The company we have at our building will help you with your IP address.
5). We can also recommend legal place to store you vehicles. As you should know with this business model, you cannot store your vehicles at administrative offices unless the local jurisdiction ALSO zones the property for vehicle storage. Even if a Landlord tells you that you can, that doesnt mean it is legal, and you want to comply with all laws, or you will be fined and you could loose your license. You and your manager/salesman/employee may actually drive the first 2 or 3 vehicle. After that, you simply have to find a place to store the vehicles. We can recommend places that may cost $75 to $100 per parking spot
6). If you rent from us, you get automatic membership into GABA the Georgia Auto Brokers Association. Even if you rent from someone else, we still also strongly recommend that you join GABA, the Georgia Auto Brokers Association, a non-profit association that has been formed to promote, defend and assist in compliance and transparency for the auto broker business model. There are some represented by large car dealers that are wanting to change the law require all dealers to rent a dealer lot, eliminating the auto broker business model. The government should NOT be in the business of choosing winners and losers, all legitimate business complying with the law should be allowed to stay in business! Help us keep it this way.
