Bass/vocals (early 50s) & drummer (mid 40s) seek a guitarist to complete a new original trio rooted in the angular sounds of late ’70s/early ’80s UK post-punk.
Influences stem from stuff like XTC, Stranglers, early Cure & Banshees, Slits, Wire, Damned, Jam, etc. Some heavy psych, Krautrock, '70s Bowie, and '60s Kinks/Who textures in there too, but the backbone is tight, dynamic playing with sharp turns and rhythmic precision.
Looking for a musician with a complementary level of technical capability as per the tunes linked below. It’ll be a focused three-piece, so feel, tone, and confident execution are everything. The idea is to learn these songs first to form the basis of a working set, and then move forward by writing some all-new originals as a band ASAP. Fully equipped pro practice space – plug & play.
Notes: This isn't a side-gig gig. Reliable, stable, happy, proactive communicators, positive attitude, etc., welcome!
