Experienced, very creative teacher offers individualized instruction tailored to each student's needs. I have a Masters in Education from Penn State University as well as significant experience as a professional musician. I have worked with all ages from 4 to past retirement and with many styles of music.
I don't have one set method that I use with everybody. I find it is much more satisfying for both of us if I build my instruction around not only what you need technically, but also your learning style and the kinds of music that you like.
Are you one of the many adults that wishes you had taken or continued lessons when you were young and think it’s too late now?? It’s not. There is all kinds of simplified music that we can use (or I can create) for as long as you need. (And, of course all kinds of more advanced music, pop as well as classical, when you are ready for it.)
Are you one of the many parents concerned about your child’s learning deficit as a result of COVID?? Studies have shown that music lessons (specifically piano lessons) have improved academic performance.) And it makes sense to me. Working with a skilled teacher helping your child learn how to learn as well as learning the instrument can make everything else that he or she does easier and more satisfying. Learning how to learn. Learning how to listen. Learning how to think clearly. Learning how to take things that initially seem overwhelming and tackle them one step at a time, one bite at a time can increase his or her efficiency and self confidence.
Everything you do has the potential to be easier and more enjoyable when you learn how to learn.
Do you have a teenager who seems to need a source of personal expression?? We can work with the music they listen to every day as well as covering whatever basics they need. We can collaborate to arrange the music at whatever skill level he/she needs, using music that they help select and work to perfect it so that they can play it proudly for their friends.
Do you get home from work and crave something to do just for you?? You’ve done for everybody else. Now maybe it’s your turn to do something just for you.
Would you like to learn to play “by ear” and/or take a crack at writing your own music. We can do that.
Would you like to sing and play together?? We can do that.

For those who are considering online lessons, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and personal they can be. You could try it out for a while before you commit to longer term.
