When four friends got together in their small kitchen to brew beer, they had no idea they would end up creating some of the best brews in the city. Oedipus brewery strives to create unique flavours that will leave each drinker with a feeling they’ll never forget. 4. Brouwerij Troost

21 Cornelis Troostplein, Amsterdam-Zuid Amsterdam, Noord-Holland

Previously an old Art Deco-styled monastery, Brouwerij Troost is now a modern brewery, taproom, and restaurant. They began the brewing career by making 100,000-litre batches of beer inside the location. Since then, their beers have won the hearts of many beer lovers. When their supplies weren’t quite meeting their demands, they established two other breweries in the city as well as a dedicated brewpub. From refreshing pilsners to fruity sours, their brews have tremendous range and an even better finish.

5. Walhalla Brewing

10 Spijkerkade, Amsterdam-Noord Amsterdam, Noord-Holland

One of the newer breweries in Amsterdam, Walhalla is equally creative and delicious. They draw their inspiration from ancient religions—they name their brews after powerful deities and other lesser spirits. For example, their specially released raspberry Berliner Weisse is called Aphrodite, saying that you’ll quickly fall head over heels for the scrumptious brew. They claim to brew the “favourite beers of the gods.” Once you take a sip, you’ll understand why.

Of course, it goes without saying, as you explore the city and enjoy your craft brews, make sure to drink responsibly!
