6 Simple Ways to Make You Feel Good

All the hustle and bustle of the holiday season can take its toll on your body and your mind. Between frantic last minute shopping, Christmas dinner and all those parties you just can’t refuse, by the time the new year comes around you can be left feeling a little deflated. Which is why it’s nice to treat yourself and indulge in a little ‘me’ time when the moment arises.

Below, we’ve rounded up six simple tips and tricks that you can exercise to make you feel good this holiday season and beyond.

1. Embrace Lagom


Recently, the world has become fascinated by the Swedish way of living and the Scandi trend that has overtaken hygge known as Lagom. In simple terms, Lagom translates to “just the right amount”; so not too much, not too little. It summarises a Swedish way of living that espouses balance.

However, achieving balance in our hectic lives is easier said than done but this Christmas, treat yourself by embracing the essence of Lagom. This means buying gifts with thought for people and the environment at large; think quality over quantity, especially when it comes to eating and drinking! Spend just enough that you’re not in the red come the new year and make yourself available to just enough people so that you’re not stretched to the point of exhaustion. Have a Lagom Christmas!

2. Create the ultimate playlist


There’s nothing that a blast of your favourite songs can’t cure. It doesn’t matter how tiresome a day has been, popping on your headphones and turning the volume up loud is a surefire way to boost your mood and take your mind off of things. Round up all of your favourites, from the old school hits such as Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You (a seasonal classic) to the current wonders, in one playlist and get lost in the power of music. (But don’t blame us if you start dancing in public!)

3. Take a bath


Christmas is all about family time but with all the commotion, sometimes it’s best to take a day and have a little ‘me’ time instead.
