It’s officially four days to go until Christmas and with that it’s likely that panic-stricken shopping will commence right about now. But just because time is running out it doesn’t mean that your present has to lack thought or creativity.

Whether it’s a hard to buy for a friend, partner or relative or you’ve simply left it until the last minute and need an instant gift. We’re here to save the day with our list of unique experience gifts to give this Christmas. Read on to find the perfect instant and unusual experience gift for that special someone.

Consider an annual cinema membership for the film buff, often this comes with a number of free or reduced price cinema tickets as well as other benefits such as access to previews and advanced screenings. Alternatively you could purchase tickets to an upcoming exhibition you know they’ll be interested in. Museums and galleries will usually publish their exhibitions up to a year in advance giving you ample planning time. Especially if there’s an exhibition abroad that you want to treat someone to.

Saying that, why not purchase the full package and bring someone on a trip away. Airlines often have cheap deals in the lead up to Christmas if you travel at certain times in the new year, now is the perfect time to treat someone special to the city break they’ve always dreamed of. Have a look at what’s happening in your city of choice as you may be able to plan your trip around a concert, play or exhibition.

Or perhaps your difficult to buy for friend, partner or relative has an interest in a hobbie that they haven’t had time to focus on lately. A gift of hobbie classes could be just what they need to get their creative spark back; art classes, cookery school, music lessons, the options are endless. We love the look of When Poppy Met Daisy, an Irish Fashion Design and Sewing school that offers six and twelve week courses and one day workshops in everything from pattern drawing to dress making and basic introductions to sewing and alterations, this is just the gift for someone with a creative flair and an eye for fashion.

One of the best gifts I’ve received was a subscription to my favourite, hard-to-find magazine, meaning it arrived promptly and efficiently at my door as soon as a new issue was published, browse online to find some interesting titles that you wouldn’t often come by and sign someone up for a short term subscription.

There is also a whole host of book subscription boxes that would make a really thoughtful and lasting gift for the bibliophile in your life, Crate Joy has a range of subscription types while OwlCrate is a good option for the YA reader in your life. And for the beauty obsessed Birchbox or Glossybox beauty subscription boxes are real treats to come home to once a month, a little gift box filled with a selection of mini and full size beauty products to test out at home, what’s not to love?

So there you have it, present giving is actually easier than you think, once you think outside the box that is.
