At the start of each month, we like to round up all of the things team maven46 enjoyed in the previous month. From the perfect stocking filler for every fashion girl to the must-have jacket this winter, keep reading to find out what was top of our hitlist in October.

Catch up on our September favourites here.

Mom Jeans

I was sceptic about mom jeans, having always worn skinny or boyfriend jeans that sit on my waist. I was really afraid of that higher waist style yet I regularly saw models, fashion bloggers and style mavens alike wearing them and looking perfect! And so, last month I decided to try one pair of mom fit jeans and it was love at first sight! The high waist makes your legs longer and they are really comfortable. They can be styled with everything from sneakers to ankle boots and in one second you’re ready for the cinema, a night out, or why not for a first date! I love wearing them with a printed T-shirt (strictly tucked in), a crop top or a cable knit jumper. -Giulia, Marketing Intern

Loungewear

There’s nothing more appealing to me (clothing wise) than loungewear that doubles as acceptable everyday clothing. The pyjama trend has been a saviour for many of us this past year. From jogger style trousers to actual pyjama sets, the options are endless. This new set by Rosie for Autograph at Marks & Spencer is perfect for the job, the silk pyjama top can be worn on it’s own during the day with tailored trousers or straight leg jeans and slip-on shoes while the full set will be the ultimate luxury for wintery evenings spent by the fire. -Síomha, Editorial Assistant

Sandro Pilou Jacket

I’ve always been quite fascinated by blazers but have never found the right way to wear one to suit my style. They come around season after season in different shapes and forms but I’ve now realised there’s none more flattering than a slightly oversized fit with a double-breasted buttoning. This Sandro one has caught my eye mainly because of the unusual fabric and colour combination. The fact that it’s made from wool makes it perfect for layering throughout winter while the Ecru colour provides a nice alternative to the dark hues that usually dominate our wardrobes in the colder months. -Síomha, Editorial Assistant

Dress Scandinavian by Pernille Teisbaek

My long time style crush and street style aficionado Pernille Teisbaek announced last month that she would be releasing a book in late October. Dress Scandinavian which went on sale last week is a style guide helping readers to get the sought after Scandinavian minimalist look. This would make a great stocking filler for the fashion obsessed in your life… Hint hint hint… -Síomha, Editorial Assistant

Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara

I decided to give this new Rimmel gradual tinting mascara a go this month. My eyelashes are usually quite fair, so it seemed like the perfect solution. The semi-permanent tint comes out smooth and clump-free onto your lashes and gradually builds the colour up, giving your natural lashes a darker look from root to tip. This product is great for someone who wants the tinted effect you would get in a salon. -Emma, Editorial Assistant

Dior Diorskin Forever Compact Flawless Extreme Wear Makeup

I have extremely sensitive combination skin which makes finding the perfect foundation a huge dilemma! I’ve tried every kind of foundation, from liquid to powder but with this treasure from Dior I have finally found the perfect one. I apply this compact foundation in the morning and my skin appears perfect until the end of the day, even without any touch-ups. The Diorskin Forever Compact is easy to apply it with a sponge or a brush, depending on your preferences, which makes it perfect to bring on the go. Thankfully, when it’s finished (and I finish it quickly) you don’t need to repurchase the entire compact as refills are available! -Giulia, Marketing Assistant

Isadora Face Sculptor Strobing

I am tad obsessed with highlighers lately, my usual go-to is the Balm Mary Lou-Manizer, however, the past month I’ve been using this Isadora one and have been loving it so far. It’s not as ‘in your face bright’ as the Balm’s that I’m used to, but it makes a great choice for day-to-day wear. I have the ‘warm glow’ version and even though I’m the palest of pale this works nicely. Plus, you get three colours in one so you’re sure to find your perfect match. –Adina, Marketing Manager
