Aside from the usual pang of envy you get every season when presented with the beautiful designer clothes on array, this time, we are getting some major holiday envy from the latest Spring/Summer campaigns. Sandy beaches, beautiful cities, and Californian trailer parks are the backdrops of choice, so this summer why not let the fashion campaigns and their fabulous scenery be your holiday compass so you too can tap into the fabulous lifestyles as sold to us in their imagery.
Kenzo S/S 2016
Titled ‘Snowbird’ the campaign takes place in a town called Slab City (The Slabs) which is a snowbird campsite in the Sonoran Desert. 153 km northeast of San Diego, this is generally used by recreational vehicle owners and migrating dwellers from across North America. Using the abandoned trailers and recreational motors; model/actress Abby Lee Kershew shows us what she learned in the movie ‘Mad Max’ by acting reckless in the sunny state of California. If this particular location isn’t your ideal vacay destination, make your dwellings in San Diego and rent a car for the true American road trip. Instagram at the ready, this location makes for truly unique photos.
Valentino S/S 2016
Shot in the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, Africa the campaign depicts models in a dusty safari where jungle cats and elephants roam. You can make like a Valentino model and stay in the national park or just find a cheap hotel but whatever you do you’re not going to want to miss the safari rides and beautiful sights!
Tommy Hilfiger S/S 2016
Behati Prinsloo makes a splash in a tricolour cut-out one piece on the Caribbean shores of Saint Vincent and Grenadines. A dream-like scenery this campaign oozes paradise and tropical vibes. Visit the Grenadines beach and try your hand at kite-surfing. Why not soak up the year round sun and book the last minute trip of a lifetime?
Dolce and Gabanna S/S 2016
This campaign was shot in Italy (if you hadn’t already guessed). Starring mainly Italian models eating spaghetti in the city of Capri, the beautiful town has plenty to offer such as the breathtaking Villa Jovis, a historic landmark of ancient Roman ruins which will please every sight-lover’s needs. From the blue grotto cave to tons of high-end shops to splurge in, this dream-like destination is worth every penny.
Chloé S/S 16
Set in Argentina’s Buenos Aires, the beautiful city is known as the complete package of South America. The campaign soaks up the sun with models Céline Bouly and Ari Westphal roaming the city in tri-colour attire. Famous for its food and culture, Buenos Aires is renowned for having a good time surrounded by beautiful culture. Visit places like La Boca, a graffiti covered town dedicated to art, (it looks like a masterpiece itself) during the day and see what the Argentinian party scene has to offer at night. Hit the nightlife in Palermo or see some Broadway-worthy entertainment at Senor Tango near the Matanza River.
