March 29th, 2019
The first glimpse of sun and already we’re peeling off the layers, taking our lunch breaks outside, and planning trips to the beach — it might only be March but we can’t help it; as Irish people, it’s in our nature to strip off and dream of summer once temperatures rise above 17 degrees.
But before you start lathering the sunscreen on all over, consider your swimwear for a moment. When was the last time you purchased a new ’suit or ’kini? Last decade’s togs simply won’t suffice anymore, particularly not when this season’s swimwear looks this good. With new-in collections from our go-to swim designers such as COS, Faithfull the Brand, and Rosie for Autograph, there’s an array of new season styles, cuts and trends for you to choose from.
Whether you prefer an all-in-one-piece or itty bitty two-piece, high-cut legs are a key feature this season (which kindly creates the illusion of a longer frame — huzzah!). Belted designs also continue to make waves alongside a handful of fresher micro trends such as bow detailing, asymmetric cuts, ruffling, and ruching. The colour of choice for 2019? Orange — though nude, beige and brown are also big contenders.
Inspired by far-flung destinations and warmer weather, we’ve rounded up our favourite designs that tick all of the above boxes this season for your browsing pleasure. So, what are you waiting for? Dive in.
