The who’s who of fashion descended on the streets of Denmark’s capital in sub-zero climate for Copenhagen Fashion Week just days ago. With temperatures dropping below minus, these ladies gave us some serious styling lessons on how to look cool in the cold. Known for their effortlessly cool style and impeccable ability to layer, who better to take notes on winter dressing from than the Scandinavians?
This season, streetwear looks included the now iconic Stine Goya coat which was seen in an array of colours from lime to chocolate brown, as well as green puffer jackets and, of course, the infamous chunky trainers which are a Scandi staple.
Dark colours may be the go-to in winter for most but not for the Danes as the streets were awash with bright and vivid shades which made for a nice contrast against the dull winter days. Browsing through our favourite looks from the past few days a couple of key trends for the upcoming season stood out. As predicted back in September, yellow is going to be a big colour trend for spring/summer as many of fashion’s finest opted to rock the sunshine shade in the form of trending boiler suits and cute cropped jackets. Check remains a strong trend for the season ahead as it could be seen on every corner in the form of coats, pants and boots, ensuring the popular pattern sticks around for a while longer. When it comes to what footwear the showgoers opted to pound the streets of Copenhagen in, white boots were the shoe of choice for most, and love them or loathe them, chunky trainers appear to be a mainstay.
