With party season in full swing and New Year’s Eve on the horizon, there are more than enough excuses reasons to go shopping for you this month. From work parties to nights out with the girls and ringing in the new year, December is full of occasions to get dressed up. To give you a helping hand and a nod in the right direction, we’ve compiled an extensive list of potential party outfits from festive numbers to power suits to cover all bases this season.

LBD

You can never go wrong with a little black dress; pair with some cute kitten heels or sultry strappy sandals and you are good to go. From backless slip dresses to velvet minis, the LBD will see you through any occasion in style.

The Festive Dress

Nothing could be more festive this time of year than the colours red and green. Embrace the cliché and look the part for Christmas dinner in a wrap dress (which just so happens to be the perfect style of dress for hiding that Christmas food baby!) in jewel tone shades of ruby red and emerald green. ‘Tis the season!

The Jumpsuit

For those of you who don’t feel like dressing up in a dress, make a statement this season in a jumpsuit. Wear on its own for a show-stopping New Year’s Eve look or dress it down by wearing either a turtleneck underneath or a chunky knit on top. It’s the perfect option for both party nights and party days.

Sequins

Be prepared to break out the Kira Kira app with any of these ensembles. I mean, if you can’t wear sequins in December then when can you? New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to pull out all the stops and shine bright like your favourite party dress.

The Skirt

For a more relaxed vibe over the holidays, you cannot go wrong with a midi skirt. Pair with a slouchy knit for Christmas day or a silk cami and a pair of heels for a night out.

The Pants

If you don’t feel like getting your legs out (it is winter after all) then a smart pair of trousers is a great alternative. Be brave with prints and embroidered styles you wouldn’t normally wear for the perfect party look.

The Tops

Opting for ‘jeans and a nice top’ for those last minute Christmas nights out? This is the section for you. From eye-catching sequins to go-with-everything silky cami tops, these will see you through any occasion with minimal effort and maximum style.

The Suits

Want to stand out from the crowd? Well, why not go for a suit? The power suit has been so popular this year from pastels for spring to corduroy for autumn, so why not give this popular co-ord a try this party season?

The Bags

Of course, no look is complete without the perfect party bag. Choose from a simple clutch like this slim croc-effect pouch from Whistles or make a statement with & Other Stories’ tasselled crossbody or a geometrical minaudière from Zara to add a pop of colour to an all-black outfit.

The Shoes

Sometimes all you need is a statement pair of shoes to pull together an entire outfit. From strappy sandals to kitten heels and comfy flats, we’ve covered all bases, whatever your plans are this holiday season.
