For over two years I have toyed with the idea of launching a unique event in Ireland; an all-encompassing event that caters to all facets of women’s interests in a modern society and celebrates our multi-tasking brilliance by encouraging us to be the best versions of ourselves. This year, with a little gentle nudge in the right direction, I have decided to boldly go where no one has gone before and proceed with our summit with a difference. I would like to introduce you to Be, our one-day summit for women by women. Be is coming to the newly renovated The Alex Hotel, Dublin on September 22nd and we want you to come and celebrate with us.
Be aims to bring women from all walks of life together under one roof to listen and learn about everything that interests us. With four separate quarters entitled Inspire, Life, Fashion and Beauty, there will be expert speakers and thought leaders in each area bestowing their knowledge and expertise. In the Inspire Quarter, you can listen to first-hand accounts of how our speakers became entrepreneurs and the lessons they learned along the way, different funding options for female tech entrepreneurs, and how to grow your brand if you are starting a business. In the Fashion Quarter, find out how to declutter your wardrobe, translate the new season trends for your body shape, and what to wear to work that is not only office-appropriate but stylish too from our top journalists, writers and stylists.
In the Life Quarter, you can expect to hear some invaluable love and dating lessons from our expert resident love and relationships columnist, London-based Vogue contributor, Persia Lawson. Our life and career coach, Paula Coogan, will be on hand to help you navigate your career twists and turns with insightful advice that you can digest and implement. Nutritional Therapist Lauren Healy from The Reset will be debunking the myths of fad diets and Lucy McPhail, founder of Fetch Beauty, our new beauty e-commerce addiction, will be discussing the best cult beauty products on the market while international MUAs Judy Wong and Nadine Reid will be panelling a discussion on the key make up looks that you need answered.
Now more than ever, and in light of the current movement of change where women are no longer accepting being placed second in line when it comes to their career, pay gaps and life in general, this type of summit is so important. Unfortunately, and for such a long time, women have been pigeonholed into boxes as one-dimensional stereotypes without any true awareness or thought into the real women of today’s society. Women are multi-faceted, multi-talented and three dimensional and for some reason, we have had to apologise for being bold, for being brave and for being strong enough to stand up for not only what we want but also what we like. As a female founder in a male-dominated landscape, I understand the necessity of pushing through the stereotypes and not apologising for not only liking fashion and beauty but business too. Women shouldn’t have to apologise for being a businesswoman who equally enjoys fashion or a tech entrepreneur that has a penchant for beauty. We have the right to be who we want to Be and we are inviting you to come and join us in this celebration.
Welcome to Be. Created by women for women. Be empowered. Be inspired. Be you.
