TV presenter and style maven Laura Whitmore made a fleeting trip home to Dublin yesterday to celebrate the launch of Diet Coke’s ‘Because I Can’ series in the heart of the city. The campaign, which aims to celebrate the good things in life, is designed to give Diet Coke drinkers access to a series of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to explore one of their passions and enjoy some carefree fun with Diet Coke.

Kicking things off in style at Yamamori Tengu, Laura was joined by Darren Kennedy who quizzed her on her own ‘Because I Can’ attitude and the little moments in life that make her feel good – hanging out with a mate, having a boogie on the dancefloor or playing with her dog in the park FYI.

As Diet Coke’s new ambassador, Laura was pictured earlier in the day wearing the brand’s signature shade in a red lace-trimmed suit by The Kooples.

Speaking about Laura’s outfit on the night, stylist Corina Gaffey said, “Laura blends nonchalant cool and sleek sophistication, and I wanted to reflect her signature style. The key to Laura’s cool-girl style is she always stays true to her trademark sleek fashion with interesting twists. She is a big fan of supporting Irish designers and that was an important element to her look for the Diet Coke event, deciding on a fun printed ’70s style Joanne Hynes dress. The zip detail and oversized cuffs lend that edge while the ladylike silhouette brings an elevated sophistication.”

As part of the campaign, there will be a series of events over the coming months including a dance masterclass with Dancing with the Stars Maia Dunphy and partner Robert Rowinski, a chance to learn nail art from the pros at Tropical Popical, and a style session with maven46 – yes, us! Our Editor and stylist, Tanya Grimson will be talking you through her expert style tips and will be on hand to answer your personal style questions.

Places at these free events will be available through social media by following the hashtag #BecauseICan via Diet Coke Ireland’s Instagram and Facebook. Check out the calendar of events below.
