The hugely popular mule of the last two seasons has gotten a pretty upgrade. Welcome to the era of Cinderella-inspired shoes as delicate ornate versions of the mule are sure to dominate street style this season. Opt for embroidery, velvet and embellishment for the prettiest indoor/outdoor shoe you will find.
Taking serious inspo from the late ’90s and early noughties, dark denim is back with a bang. It’s time to recycle your relaxed bleached summer vibes and prepare yourself for a much more stoic denim affair. Featuring in the collection of Nina Ricci, Kenzo, Fendi and Max Mara, if you are lucky enough to see a dark pair of denims in a sea of blue in store now, fight your way to secure them, you won’t regret it later.
From straw to plastic, studded or shiny, the bucket bag and, in fact, any handheld bag of its variety continues to show its strength this season. For extra style points channel Chanel, Gucci and Dolce and Gabbana who showed models carrying multiple bags at one time proving the point – a girl can never have too many bags.
All shades of sorbet are going to be huge this season with mint, lilac and lemon also featuring strongly, but we predict the power of pink will outtake the rest.
Tailoring continues as a major contender to some of the more whimsical styles seen on the SS18 catwalks. Expect more tailored two-piece trouser suits to meet the pencil skirt and widened shoulders while interesting and asymmetrical cuts add a sharpened edge. Make a smart investment in the sales now in structured blazers, trench coats and tailored trousers.
From season to season florals never fail to come up smelling of roses. Always on trend, investing in florals is an investment well spent; expect more of the bloom this season and beyond.
