Recreate Modern Art With These Geometric Earrings

These are head turners!

With new season collections coming at us in abundance, there is one aspect in particular that stands out – earrings. These collections favour an even bigger and bolder approach to accessorising than last season, dressing your lobes with an extra semblance of artistry.

Mix and match earrings were big hitters at the AW17 shows along with metallic styles that aren’t shy of colour as seen at Acne Studios. Meanwhile, oversized hoops with punches of colour in leather tassel detail shone at Versace while Emporio Armani’s jewels made full ’80s graphic impact.

Marni put on its usual supersize display but with a more minimal approach this time around- on the colour spectrum, that is. Asymmetry was the theme of the day at Balenciaga where one lobe outweighed the other but we would expect no less from a brand who knows how to make an impact.

However, with a season of experimental jewellery dressing ahead, it is important to know that no rules apply here. Earrings are an incredibly fun and simple way of injecting colour into an otherwise muted ensemble so go the full hog with supersize shapes and energetic hues. Top tip: try mix-matching new geometric styles with your classic, minimal pieces to achieve AW17’s modern look. (This means you only have to invest in one new set of earrings, bonus!)
