Have you ever longed to see a piece of designer clothing hanging in your wardrobe but could never justify the price tag that accompanies it? It’s an all too common feeling, one which we know well, however, with the frequency of designer-meets-high street collaborations, owning something with a designer label sewn inside isn’t an impossibility. So of course, the chance to own something designed by JW Anderson for less than €100 thanks to his latest collaboration is an exciting prospect.
The Northern Ireland born designer is known for his avant-garde designs which grace the runway both for his own eponymous label and at Loewe where he is also Creative Director. But while his creations are often too editorial for everyday wear, the designer’s own wardrobe consists of timeless basics which makes his upcoming collaboration with Japanese retailer, Uniqlo ever the more intriguing.
Comprising of 34 pieces, the capsule collection caters for both men and women and is hyper-wearable. Featuring classic beige trench coats, perfect for trans-seasonal dressing coming into autumn, a standout tartan puffer jacket, and sure to sell out blouses featuring ruffle detailing which has become an iconic trait of his past collections, JW Anderson x Uniqlo is an array of wardrobe staples with a notable touch of heritage – a strong trend for AW17.
Although there are separate pieces for men and women, many items are unisex and for those that aren’t, there’s nothing stopping you from borrowing from the boys. With prices starting at €19.90 for a T-shirt and reaching up to €159.90 for the trench coat, JW Anderson’s first collection for Uniqlo will undoubtedly sell out.
You can shop the collection from Tuesday, 19th September in the UK or Wednesday, 20th September in Europe here.
