It’s hard to believe that it has been less than a year since & Other Stories opened its flagship store in Dublin but in that short space of time, it’s become a necessary stop each and every time we walk along Grafton Street, with its vibrant, colourful window displays making it impossible to walk on by.

With great attention to detail and quality, & Other Stories designs collections with the modern woman at the forefront, creating unique, trend-led capsules that would make any style maven’s heart skip a beat. Each of the brand’s collections is created in one of its three design ateliers located in Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles. And every year & Other Stories invites selected designers to co-create special once-off collections, the latest of which being with Sonic Youth frontwoman Kim Gordon.

Launching on the 31st August online and in selected stores, the collection features a curated selection of pieces, crafted from organic cotton and silk, decorated with exclusive artwork by Kim Gordon.

You can get a sneak peek of the forthcoming collection in our exclusive images below.

The campaign stars Kim Gordon’s daughter, Coco and was shot in the musician’s hometown of L.A. Speaking about the collection, Gordon said, “Dealing with the structured shapes of t-shirts and hoodies in this collection was almost like working with empty canvases. I decided to do pronouns because I like the idea of a word, and the sense of drama surrounding it. Thinking of a word can create an atmosphere, and there’s a certain mystery about it. The screen printing makes the pieces feel more crafted and one-of-a-kind. Especially the abstract prints, they almost look tie-dyed, but more like art in a way. I like contrasts and when something unexpectedly is looking glam.”

The concept for the graphics started with the pronoun “her” and then grew from there to include “they”, “the other”, “the shadow”, “the end” and “morning mirror” alongside more abstract paintings. Kim hand-painted the words and the abstract motifs with metallic ink on rice paper, contrasting the structured shapes of the garments with a performative feel. With slogan tees featuring heavily in many designer’s collections for the upcoming autumn/winter season, this co-lab is perfectly on trend and timely, and what better way to start the season than with some fresh new pieces for your autumnal wardrobe?

The co-lab consists of 9 T-shirts and hoodies crafted from organic cotton, five silk scarves and two brass necklaces with prices starting from €25. The collection will be available in & Other Stories on Grafton Street from 31st August.
