An Ode to Satin and Velvet

The Deco fabric take-over

Despite being in the height of summer, we’ve recently come to find ourselves lusting over luxurious fabrics which predominantly are refined to the cooler months of autumn and winter. Satin and velvet, fabrics which epitomise the height of roaring Twenties sophistication are having a summer renaissance and our wardrobes couldn’t be happier.

Slip dresses, turbans and duster coats are vestiges of glamorous flapper style but can and should be toned down to the extreme with jeans, plain white tees and pool slides for the ultimate transitional look. Be sure to mix and match to your heart’s content with rich rusts oranges, mustards and deep burgundy, and add a bit of feminine charm with pale pinks and floral motifs.
