Last month, we found the travel destinations trending for 2017 according to Google so this month we’ve put together a shoppable guide with the standout pieces you should add to your suitcase that will not only have you blending in with the trendiest local but will also keep you cool and comfortable in these sunny holiday hot spots.

Sri Lanka

Asian patterns are a key trend for silk and satin this season and this bright yellow bag from Mango is spot on Sri Lankan in terms of palette and pattern. Wide brim hats are a great way to protect your face from direct sunlight and this embroidered sun hat will stand out for all the right reasons.

Mexico

Channel your inner Frida Kahlo and embrace the bright colours that dominate this wonderful country both in the unique flora and fauna, and also the interiors and exteriors of the city streets. We love these round rimmed shades from & Other Stories designed in Stockholm and this burnt orange clutch from Mango reminiscent of terracotta tiles.

Amalfi Coast

A recent hub for influencers such as Camille Charriere and Louise Follain, this iconic Italian coastline is the perfect summertime destination. Glamour is the name of the game here so this trendy take on the classic chandelier earring from Parfois will elevate any outfit. Sticking to a capsule wardrobe like this one of light grey, plush pink and navy will make choosing outfits effortless, allowing you to get out and enjoy the hair-raising views.

San Sebastián

Revered for haute cuisine means that relaxed and classy dining-out attire is essential in San Sebastián. Known as Donostia by locals, the sun soaked cobbled streets ooze old school class and are far easier manoeuvered in these kitten heels by Manolo Blahnik than any stilettos. Breton stripes and satin slip dresses are always a good choice while this deodorant by Aesop is almost good enough to eat.

Rwanda

Safari style doesn’t just have to be khaki green and tans, why not take your lead from the locals and incorporate some stand-out patterns full of colour like these bow front sandals from Brother Vellies with vegetable-tanned leather sole using traditional Ethiopian shoemaking techniques and handwoven fabrics in local patterns? The tribal theme of these earrings are the perfect accessory and this scent made by Irish perfumery, Roads takes its inspiration from modern African culture.

Bulgaria

Tassels, pony hair and embroidered leather and linen are all the rage for SS17 and there’s no better destination than Bulgaria to channel your inner nomad. There is little wonder that these indigenous styles have stood the test of time when you see what the high street and catwalks have to offer this summer.

Lisbon

Tackling city style in the heat can be tricky. We suggest breathable fabrics like poplin and comfortable sandals such as this padded pair with minimalist straps from Topshop. Lisbon has a relaxed urban vibe that’s both smart and sporty so keep this in mind if you want to blend in with the locals.

Tokyo

You will be hard pushed to find a trendier spot than Tokyo so if street style spotting is your sport of choice then you’re heading to the right place. Luxe sportswear brands are all the rage so these Fila pool slides will give your feet just as sporty a feel as trainers but far manageable in the soaring temperatures. Don’t let jet lag spoil your sit-seeing, take control of your sleeping cycle with this pillow spray that took years to develop but will send you off to the land of nod in no time.
