Gianvito Rossi’s leather knee boots are timeless, and not merely because they’re crafted from Italian buttery black leather that only looks better wear after wear, but as a penny-saving alternative we couldn’t say no to these black beauties from & Other Stories.

If there’s one thing we want more than anything off our Christmas wishlist it’s a sleek pair of burgundy knee boots. Whether we receive Saint Laurent’s smooth leather pair or Zara’s crinkled slouch style, we don’t mind.

Black is always a good choice when it comes to investing in a pair of boots but that doesn’t have to mean ‘boring’ or ‘safe’. Miu Miu’s crystal embellished heel adds just the right amount of sparkle, ample for the party season. However, New Look’s suede offering is, dare we say it, nicer than the real deal.

Suede is normally our go-to when it comes to thigh skimming over-the-knee boots but this season we’re eyeing up a striking pair in the most talked about fabric of the season, velvet. Saint Laurent’s BB70 style is pure decadence but these high street copies can walk the walk just as well.
