A couple of weeks ago I was working on creating the images below for Paul Costelloe’s new Phoenix Collection, the Irish designer’s eighth and largest jewellery collection to date and my head was pleasantly turned. It was like working in a candy shop as a kid surrounded by beautiful pieces that just desire to be brought home. But alas, it could not be, I did however have the fortunate job of playing dress-up for the day (A.K.A. styling) and allowing the pieces to work their own magic on our beautiful model Li Ann.
Paul is renowned for naming his jewellery collections after notable places from his childhood years in Dublin and The Phoenix Collection takes what he has experienced from each place and combines them with what he has learned from his chosen path as a top fashion designer. Comprising of over 50 designs, designed with all tastes and personal styles in mind ranging from his ever popular bridal range featuring mother of pearl and crystal to much more contemporary shapes and my favourite of the ranges. This season, the Phoenix Collection wanted to cater for the younger, more diversified customer that is looking for unusual shapes and tapping into the geometrical trend of the season, this younger range is encapsulated by triangle, circle and diamond cuts.
Although the Phoenix Collection is broken into various categories that define individual styles, I personally love the mix and match element of the collection, you don’t necessarily need to buy them in sets but rather choose to defy the rules and mismatch your earrings – pair a single triangle shape with an alternative long chain. Or mix your metals for a new take on simple elegance, team rose gold with silver for a beautiful pairing that shows off each colour by contrasting it and layer your lengths through the new addition of the long lariat necklace offset by short triangle pendants as shown below.
The brand new collection is currently available to buy online and in various retailers.
