Launched by Swedish couple Elin Kling and Karl Lindman in 2014, Totême’s first collection consisted of a twenty-piece ready to wear selection of mix and match classics. With Kling’s history in fashion spanning from starting Sweden’s biggest fashion blog to launching StyleBy magazine and Lindman’s role as Art Director of Interview magazine, this duo’s talents are a match made in fashion heaven.
Kling looks after most of the design and production while Lindman oversees the marketing and PR for the young brand. It would appear that this ideal combination of experience forms much of the basis behind the immediate success of Totême. Given the fact that Totême got picked up by both Net-A-Porter and The Line on their first collection, “immediate success” is certainly a valid claim here.
Echoing minimalist brands such as The Row and Céline, Totême follows a similar sensibility but maintains a strong unique sense of identity, not least down to their tasteful branding and iconic monogram logo seen across their designs. Seasonless neutrals, luxurious fabrics, and classic yet interesting designs, the pieces that Totême creates work for any woman anywhere.
