Spring is in the air which means a host of new fashion collaborations are filtering their way onto the highstreet. Between artists, celebrities and musicians teaming up with some of the industry’s most prestigious brands, it’s no wonder it compels people into a fashion fuelled frenzy. These wonderful collabs make it easier for the masses to enjoy high-end brands without having to live in squalor until the next pay cheque. For the designers, it’s an opportunity to lend their creative expertise and make their mark on a brand, and in some cases, completely rejuvenate it.
In the past the fashion industry has displayed some of the world’s best partnerships of all time, from Karl Lagerfeld for H&M to Kanye West for Adidas to name but a few. Some of the most sought after joint ventures have been known to quite literally ‘break the internet’, with exclusive capsule collections selling out in minutes. As the demand is so high for these coveted designs we don’t want you missing out, so we have rounded up the top four fashion collaborations for you to keep your eyes peeled for in the coming months… Better start saving!
Nike Lab x Ricardo T
Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci has teamed up with Nike Lab once again to create an athleisure line for the fitness brand. Having created two previous shoe lines which proved huge success, we have faith that this funky collab won’t fail to impress.
Half of the collection will include a mish mash of prints, like those spotted in the campaign released and the other will feature graphic black and white motifs, all modelled by current rappers Travis Scott, Fetty Wap and the rest. The line will be “engineered to exact specification” with the clothing having undergone gruelling testing to make sure it will withstand even the most vigorous of workouts.
So if you want to be a step ahead of the gym-pack and sport some new workout gear, the collection will be launching in Nike stores worldwide mid July.
Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik
Badgal RiRi is no stranger to partnering up with high-end brands who help make her creative visions come true. It was exclusively revealed in Vogue last month that she would be working on producing a capsule collection with shoe designer legend Manolo Blahnik.
For her latest venture, the singer gained inspiration from her embroidery styled hand tattoos. Denim was the main focal point, being used effectively throughout the singers collection. Each shoe is delicately designed with intricate embellishment of beads and sequins. Rihanna, most importantly, wanted the shoes to reflect her personality yet still feature Blahnik’s sexy signature style.
You will be able to get your hands on a pair of Rihanna’s exclusive stilettos from the three Mahnolo Blahnik flagship stores on May 5th with prices ranging between $895 – $3995.
Kenzo x Disney
If you were a fan of Disney films as a youngster (in particular “The Jungle Book”) then keep reading. Kenzo has announced a partnership with the top animation experts for its latest endeavour, and we can’t wait to take a trip down memory lane.
Kenzo’s creative directors, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, delved deep into Disney’s archives to collect inspiration for their line by watching unseen footage and browsing through ancient hand drawn sketches of the old Jungle Book film. The enchanting collection will include ready-to-wear cheeky pieces for men and women which combines the iconic Kenzo floral print with technicolour motifs and artwork from the iconic 1967 original film. We guarantee this clothing will leave you feeling nostalgic…
This magical collection is available online from 7th April on kenzo.com.
Beyonce – Ivy Park x Topshop
Mrs Sasha Fierce (Beyoncé) takes on the athleisure market with her new sports line ‘Ivy Park’. Named after her four year old daughter, Blue Ivy, the singer joined ventures with Topshop owner Sir Philip Green to produce the epic standalone brand.
The 200 piece collection features sleek and polished bodysuits, low-rise leggings and honeycombed reflective print jackets which will be sold in more than 50 stores worldwide. To promote this much anticipated collab she released a video in which she works out and sings in some of the coveted sportswear along with her squad of dancers. She states in the video that the brand’s name also pays homage to a park where she grew up that inspired her.
The exclusive collection will be sold at selective Topshop Stores and high-end department stores including Selfridges and Net-a-Porter on April 14th. Prices range from $30-$200, which joyfully won’t put too much of a strain on the credit card.
