Digital fashion icon Chiara Ferragni has been announced as Amazon’s new brand ambassador. The Italian born fashionista appears in their new SS16 campaign, shot by Cass Bird and styled by i-D mag fashion editor, Julia Sarr – Jamois, modelling some of her favourite looks. The collection which was available online on the 8th of March, hosts an assortment of key trends for this season, including, co-ords, embellished jumpsuits and tailored mini dresses from well know brands such as Gestuz, Selected Femme and Boss Orange, to name a few.
Amazon.com is one the world’s largest online retailers, which originally began as a bookstore, later diversifying to other genres. With fashion being one of the company’s fastest growing categories (and yet not one you would naturally associate to Amazon), it came as no surprise that this leading lady was picked to lend a helping hand to grow this side of the business, hand selecting her favourite pieces from their site.
Wanting to express herself, Ferragni’s career kickstarted in 2009, with a fashion blog ‘The Blonde Salad”, (a holy grail for fashion bloggers) giving people a real source of style and inspiration at the touch of a button. Over the past few years of her career, you can’t help but applaud her success. Boasting just short of 6 million followers on Instagram, a string of campaigns under belt, and a creator of her own shoe line, this fashion maven and savvy business woman, is certainly one of the most influential personalities in the fashion world and now it appears the Amazon marketing department thinks so too.
