Last season’s cover-up of choice for celebrities and fashionista’s alike is set to stick around for the next few months according to these street style stars. The bomber jacket was THE jacket on everyone’s backs last year, and this season they are back with a bang (or a bomb!). With variations ranging from suede and camo fabrics to embroidered detail, quilting, and patches, this season’s bomber has gotten a serious upgrade. Choose your favourite style from the shoppable links below, or go for a DIY job and have some fun sprucing up your original bomber.
The classic shirt has gotten some contemporary touches for SS16. Think flared sleeves, wrap around detailing, piping, and monogrammed cuffs. This season shirts are anything but basic. It looks like the street style pack are way ahead with this one, as they rocked up to the shows wearing their contemporary shirts where styles of a similar nature were seen on display in the autumn/winter 2016 collections. Look no further than J.W. Anderson and Roksanda where elongated and flared sleeves made a statement on the runways.
Step into spring with an extra spring in your step. Mid-heel shoes were all the rage at both London and New York shows as comfort reigned supreme for some of the most stylish street style stars this season. The mid-heel shoe is a nice combination of classy and comfort and is a welcome alternative to the stiletto or higher heeled shoes of season’s past. This style is quite often seen worn with socks making it even more suitable for the freezing temperatures that hit both London and New York during fashion week. This shoe will see you through from morning meetings to evening drinks in both comfort and style.
A trend led by Vetements, and with popular, more affordable styles from Thrasher to Champion seen on the streets, the hoodie is fast emerging as a wardrobe staple for the seasons ahead. Perhaps the most surprising trend to re-emerge as a street style must-have, the hoodie is no longer an item just thrown on when going to the gym. This season it’s quickly become a focus piece for many outfits and one that is quite versatile too. From these three images you can see how the trend can be worn in many ways, take your slip dress to the streets by adding a hoodie on top, or go for a grunge look and wear yours with layers of leather and chunky boots. For an effortlessly cool street style look this season the hoodie is your go-to item.
